Marine Project Manager in New Caledonia

Camille Nguyen-Thi is Marine Project Manager in New Caledonia, where she leads work on "Transforming Ocean Governance:Marine Protection for Sustainable and Equitable Futures." The project aims to revitalize coastal ecosystems for community resilience, livelihoods, and biodiversity protection.

After earning a master's-equivalent degree in tropical ecosystem management, she worked on mangrove conservation in Thailand and on Martinique Island. Most recently, she spent three years in New Caledonia as Chief Resilience Officer for the Resilient Reefs Initiative, led by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, at the New Caledonian Biodiversity Agency (ANCB).

In her current role, Camille works closely with local communities and stakeholders to strengthen marine protection, community-led coastal fisheries management and customary protection, while developing market innovation approaches and nature based solutions to support sustainable coastal livelihoods.
